Cognos Office of Finance User Symposium 2008

This symposium was designed to bring together users of Cognos Finance and Cognos Planning software for an exchange of ideas, problems and solutions and to educate them on how to better utilize their investment in business intelligence and planning software.
Sandy Midili presented the best kept design and reporting secret. Attribute creation and reporting functionality was given in an interactive setting with demonstrations. In addition, a review of the Consolidation Table module was given. This portion of the presentation focused on a review of the different consolidation types as well as how to set up the Consolidation Table Module.

Kim Weber’s session explored effective, efficient integration of Cognos Planning with Cognos Finance for metadata and data management as well as near real-time reporting. This included updating metadata, e-lists and data across multiple Contributor applications and Cognos Finance systems. Our practices and methodologies provided simple, efficient and effective administration of the integrated Enterprise Planning/Cognos Finance environment.
